bondi New York Horney Mistress

Could it be? Yes, I am finally back in the blogging sphere!!! After my laptop crashing and unable to get it fixed for a while, meeting the man of my dreams, getting pregnant and having a miscarriage and then moving to Golden, Colorado, I am finally back. So excited to be blogging again. My first blog back is a review on the new polish line by bondi New York.

Let me just start off by saying what incredible customer service they have. I am truly impressed. I received the coupon code in my email but missed the expiration date. I ordered the color I wanted to try and paid for it anyway, since my coupon code had expired. I mentioned it on the chat link and next thing I know, I am getting a refund to my Paypal. What a lovely gesture. Thank you so very much bondi New York.

The color I ordered was Horney Mistress. Great names by the way...love it! I can only describe this shade as a rich, gorgeous, sexy, deep red. Of course, my camera doesn't pick up the richness of the red but it is amazing! These polishes are also 5 free. Which means they are free from formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, DBP and toulene. Just about as natural as you can get.

Please excuse my ragged and dry cuticles. I am trying to acclimate to this very arid and dry climate. It is quite a change from humid Houston, Texas. Once again the true hue of the red doesn't show, it is a deeper, richer red. I love that you can get full coverage with one coat of polish for those times when you are in a rush. It drys quickly too. These pictures are one coat with base coat and no top coat.

Bondi New york polishes are $15 a bottle. They are available on their website bondi New York and Harlow & Co. I definitely plan on getting more of this line.

Thanks for reading,

Katie

Blogging Update

After almost six months I have finally got my laptop fixed. Yay!! I see some blogging in my future! I ended up having to buy a new hard drive and system restore discs. I have worked on my laptop all day and I am finally up a running. It's about freaking time, right?!?! I'm thinking about doing a stash inventory blog series now that I have it all organized with my new Helmer. What do you think? Would you guys like to see my stash?

Happy to be back,

Katie xx

Blogging Break

As most of my followers know, I am going through a rough patch in my personal life. My work life has also hit a rough spot. I lost my job four weeks ago so I am dedicating all my time and resources to finding another source of employment. I have been searching for a job pretty much anywhere in the world that will hire me. So far, I have only had one interview. I am hoping and praying that the hard times will be over soon. But until I can get a job and move on with my life away from this horrible place I am putting my blog on the back burner. I thank all my followers for supporting me and hopefully I will be back soon.

Love and polish,

Becky xx

NOTD: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I wanted to do a St. Patrick's Day manicure but I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do! Here is what I ended up doing. First, I was going to do all my fingers the same color with a stamp but the color I wanted to stamp with was too thin to stamp with so I had to go to plan B.

Everything I used. Left-Right: Sinful Colors Green Ocean and Irish Green, Cult Nails Hypnotize Me, butter London British Racing Green, China Glaze Gaga for Green, Zoya Manhattan, Illamasqua Elope, China Glaze Luxe and Lush, Zoya Ivanka and Big Ruby nail tattoos from the Juju pack. Not pictured: BM03 stamping plate.

First I started with a base of China Glaze Gaga for Green on all fingers, as that was the color I originally planned to stamp over.
Thumb:  One thick coat of Sinful Colors Irish Green and Green Ocean.
Index: BM03 shamrock stamp in butter London British Racing Green with  one coat of Cult Nails Hypnotize Me.
Middle:  Big Ruby nail tattoo from Juju pack with  one coat Zoya Manhattan.
Ring:  Two coats of Illamasqua Elope with Big Ruby nail tattoo with one coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush.
Pinky:  One coat of Zoya Ivanka.

Here is the final look.

Close Up

So that was my mani for St. Patrick's Day! I love this day! I cooked all my favorite things today and my mani stood up. I hope you enjoyed my LOTD.  Thanks for looking!

Nails Inc. Reading vs. China Glaze Electrify

I have been wanting to do this comparison since the first swatches of the China Glaze Capitol Colours first came out. I thought they looked a lot a like and boy was I right. The only real difference in these two shades to me are the formula and ratio of red glitter . The nails inc formula is much smoother than the China Glaze.  Of course being  glitters they are both rough but the nails inc is just a little bit smoother. The nails inc also seems to have a more even gold to red glitter ratio where as the China Glaze has a bit more gold than red glitter.

I think that on the nail Reading comes out maybe a hair darker than Electrify but I think it is mainly due to the red glitter. My Electrify also seemed a bit thick. I don't know if it was just my bottle or if it is the formula.

As far as availability the China Glaze will be your best bet as it is newly released and is reasonably priced.  Unless you were lucky enough to have found Reading, the nails inc may be a little harder to come by, as it was a part of last summer's LE Music Festival Special Effects collection.  I was lucky enough to grab it while I was at the Nails inc flagship store in London this past October.
So what do you think?  I think these two are so close that they can be called dupes.  I hope you have enjoyed my first comparison post.  As always, thanks for looking.

Tied Up and Twisted

Who doesn't like a gorgeous blue?   That is exactly what you get with Cult Nails Tied Up.  What can I say? I love blue, it is my favorite color and I love to wear it.  I really don't have words for how much I loved this look. I constantly found myself staring at my nails.

Unfortunately this shade from Cult Nails was only offered on Black Friday last year.  Hopefully one day Maria will bring it back.  There are other great shades at Cult Nails and they are awesome polishes for $10 each.  Finger Paints are available exclusively from Sally's Beauty Supply for $4.99 each.  Kind of a short but sweet post today.  What do you think?  Did you grab Tied Up when it was available?  How about the LE Flakie Effects from Finger Paints?  I love the flakies so much!  Once again thanks for looking!
