NOTD: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I wanted to do a St. Patrick's Day manicure but I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do! Here is what I ended up doing. First, I was going to do all my fingers the same color with a stamp but the color I wanted to stamp with was too thin to stamp with so I had to go to plan B.

Everything I used. Left-Right: Sinful Colors Green Ocean and Irish Green, Cult Nails Hypnotize Me, butter London British Racing Green, China Glaze Gaga for Green, Zoya Manhattan, Illamasqua Elope, China Glaze Luxe and Lush, Zoya Ivanka and Big Ruby nail tattoos from the Juju pack. Not pictured: BM03 stamping plate.

First I started with a base of China Glaze Gaga for Green on all fingers, as that was the color I originally planned to stamp over.
Thumb:  One thick coat of Sinful Colors Irish Green and Green Ocean.
Index: BM03 shamrock stamp in butter London British Racing Green with  one coat of Cult Nails Hypnotize Me.
Middle:  Big Ruby nail tattoo from Juju pack with  one coat Zoya Manhattan.
Ring:  Two coats of Illamasqua Elope with Big Ruby nail tattoo with one coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush.
Pinky:  One coat of Zoya Ivanka.

Here is the final look.

Close Up

So that was my mani for St. Patrick's Day! I love this day! I cooked all my favorite things today and my mani stood up. I hope you enjoyed my LOTD.  Thanks for looking!

Nails Inc. Reading vs. China Glaze Electrify

I have been wanting to do this comparison since the first swatches of the China Glaze Capitol Colours first came out. I thought they looked a lot a like and boy was I right. The only real difference in these two shades to me are the formula and ratio of red glitter . The nails inc formula is much smoother than the China Glaze.  Of course being  glitters they are both rough but the nails inc is just a little bit smoother. The nails inc also seems to have a more even gold to red glitter ratio where as the China Glaze has a bit more gold than red glitter.

I think that on the nail Reading comes out maybe a hair darker than Electrify but I think it is mainly due to the red glitter. My Electrify also seemed a bit thick. I don't know if it was just my bottle or if it is the formula.

As far as availability the China Glaze will be your best bet as it is newly released and is reasonably priced.  Unless you were lucky enough to have found Reading, the nails inc may be a little harder to come by, as it was a part of last summer's LE Music Festival Special Effects collection.  I was lucky enough to grab it while I was at the Nails inc flagship store in London this past October.
So what do you think?  I think these two are so close that they can be called dupes.  I hope you have enjoyed my first comparison post.  As always, thanks for looking.

Christmas Layering #2

I wanted to do some thing very festive and I think I achieved my mission. For Christmas Layering #2 I used Zoya Purity as the base with China Glaze Party Hearty on top. I really like how it came out.

Christmas Layering #1

I have been playing around with the many Christmas polishes I have been buying recently and I decided to do some seasonal layerings. I do so love a good layering. The first one is the combo of China Glaze Phat Santa with nails inc electric lane holographic topcoat.  I was a bad blogger and wore this one for a week before I finally got around to taking pics. I really wanted to take these in the sun but the weather just was not co-operating with me and I have been really not feeling to great this past week. So we have light box pics of this layering.

Pumpkin Spice Layering

I have been in a ready for fall mood for the past few weeks so today I am posting the fall manicure I have been wearing the past week. I just love it and I am finding it very hard to take off. It is another layering. I started with China Glaze Midtown Magic as my base. Midtown Magic is a gorgeous dark purplish brown with what looks like a gold shimmer.

Beautiful on its own but incredible when paired with Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice. Pumpkin Spice is a sheer blackened brown base with orange glitter shattered throughout.

The end result is so utterly delicious. (Please excuse my terrible cuticles!) If it wasn't so hot here I would think it was already fall. These colors make yearn for the cooler weather. I so can't wait for that first delicious piece of Pumpkin pie! Nom nom nom! :)

So what do you think of this layering? Are you ready for fall? Have you already had a taste of cooler weather?
